using this is similar to relative pronoun that or verb+ing.
공부하는 걸 그만 두겠다. : I will stop what I learn. or I will stop learning.
고양이가 밥먹는 걸 보았다. : I saw a cat which was eating meal.

This is an adverb to emphasize the moment, something important.
for example
이게 그 책이야 : This is the book
이게 바로 그 책이야 : This is the book (that we really wanted/ that I told you.... etc )
지금이야 : it's time for now
바로 지금이야 : It's time for now (that we have to do something... etc )

noun + noun = emphasized adjective
This is kind of brand new in Korean.
For example
가을가을하다 = 정말 가을 같은 / 가을냄새 물씬 나는..
소녀소녀하다 = 정말 소녀 같은
여자여자하다 = 정말 여성스러운
ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

1. 받침 makes sound of ending in a word.
2. 받침 is placed under a letter of a word.
ex)
가,나,다,라... : These words don't have 받침
간,난,단,란... : These words have 받침 'ㄴ'
sound)

Ex) 각, 간, 갇 ....
가 + ㄱ : 각 ( gak )
가 + ㄴ : 간 ( gan )
나 + ㄷ : 낟 ( nat )
When ㄱ, ㅋ used as Batchim, it sounds "K"
When ㄴ used as Batchim, it sounds "N"
When ㄷ, ㅅ, ㅈ, ㅊ, ㅌ, ㅎ used for Batchim, it sounds "T"

감사하다 Vs 고맙다
Foreigners ask me how different between these words from time to time.
Someone says 감사하다 is formal way of 고맙다.
I will say they just have same meaning.
Verb: 감사하다 = 고맙다
Formal : 감사합니다 = 고맙습니다
Adverb : 감사하게도 = 고맙게도
Adjective : 감사한 = 고마운
Noun : 감사함 = 고마움
