    I also learnt
    Nihao = hello
    Chaiyo = Cheer on!
    Xie xie = thank you

    Lyra 김리세 Ni Hao can mean Hello since Ni means you and Hao means good . So literally, it means you good. But Ma makes it a question, thus, Ni Hao Ma means How are you? So both meanings are correct.

    which have you experienced while learning a language?

    10 years ago
    최야스권 all of them hhh but bad teacher in the first place because we find in many education centers teachers not qualified to teach
    languages using complex ways and they can't teach language buy using easy and simple manners

    g502 In my case, I feel little ashamed when I try to speak in other language because I am obsessed to be perfect. And lack of time to learn is one of main difficulty.

    Just curious.... what's your reason for studying Korean? And what other languages do you wish to learn?
    Mine is, aside from being an avid KPop fan, I really love foreign language. Haha! And I also want to study Mandarin, Nihonggo, Greek, French and Spanish. I wish I could study all of those.

    I wish that we had something on the profile that said "native language" and "languages I am learning". I worry some times I am throwing Korean at people who don't speak Korean.

    How can I say "sleep" in Korean? :D
    10 years ago
    Julia Justina, Ryan chooses to use a more casual level of speech here on Mindpasta. We ignore the age differences and treat everyone as friends and equals. Just 자 would be too casual to say to your in-laws, for example, because they are elders deserving respect. But for here at Mindpasta, yes you can say 잘자 to mean sleep well.
