Travel > Kilpisjärvi
Kilpisjärvi is a small town in the Northern Finland close to the Norwegian and Swedish border. There's nothing much... Just one shop, a gas station and few hotels/guesthouses/camping area. The most exciting thing about Kilpisjärvi was it's ascetic nature. Small dwarf birches grow wherever they can but otherwise the landscape is ruled by mountains and rocks. You can also see many reindeer there!
I think the place has got its name by the Kilpisjärvi lake. On its shore rises the Saana Fell which height goes up to 1,029 meters and which is part of Scandinavian Mountains. Our retinue climbed about the half way of Saana where we could admire the landscape.
Maybe one of the nicest places I've visited in Finland is Hailuoto. It's in Northern Finland and it's an island. You get there by a car ferry or via ice road in winter.
Met up with my friend from Finland last night...It was a good time since there were so many things to catch up. It's been ages since we last met in Australia~
