    Culture > Canadian Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving Day (Canadian French: L'Action de grâce), occurring on the second Monday in October, is an annual Canadian holiday which celebrates the harvest and other blessings of the past year.
On Thursday, January 31, 1957, the Parliament of Canada proclaimed:
"A Day of General Thanksgiving to Almighty God for the bountiful harvest with which Canada has been blessed – to be observed on the 2nd Monday in October."

This is another reason why I love Fall/Autumn. A time for families to gather in thanksgiving of all the blessings...and of each other. A time to see the changes of the season. The old leaves change in color bringing hope of the future and eventually fall to make room for the new.
